The Lead Interior Designer has the opportunity to be one of the key contributing members of this growing firm. You will be integral to our success. This position includes working in conjunction with the team in all technical and logistical aspects of the projects as well as independent work. The ideal candidate will have proven experience executing residential projects, including sourcing products from residential trade vendors. Must have excellent organization, time management, and communication skills, with the ability to change course when required. Being a self starter is a must. You are comfortable asking questions and getting clarification when needed. 
 
As the Lead Designer you will be a trusted associate of the firm often working independently delivering extraordinary service. A successful candidate will be self-motivated and personally invested in the success of our firm.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Interior Design

  • 4 years of residential or commercial interior design experience for mid to high end projects

  • 3+ years of experience designing kitchens and bathrooms. NKBA certification a plus.

  • Experience specifying and measuring for window treatments

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, SketchUp. InDesign or similar software, Photoshop experience desired

  • Microsoft Windows knowledge desired – Excel experience is especially beneficial.

  • Ability to create Mood Boards

  • Must have portfolio of previous work


Responsibilities

  • Interpret and translate customer needs into plans, including furniture space planning, floor plans, demo plans, electrical plans and interior elevations.

  • Produce CAD plans, elevations, RCP, and detail drawings.

  • Measurements and onsite project documentation

  • Research and decide on materials and products sourcing, as well as obtain pricing for those products

  • Prepare client presentations and articulate why certain products were chosen for a project.

  • Enter selected products and selections into Design Files software. Experience with Design Files not required, but a plus

  • Research and follow industry changes, evolution and best practices

  • Adhere to building codes and ADA compliance (when applicable) throughout project life cycle

This job operates in both a remote & professional home-office environment. Frequent work is performed off-site at client, vendor, or storage facilities.

Physical Demands
This is largely a sedentary role with repetitive computer usage. Occasionally the job requires walking, standing, bending, and lifting/carrying supplies, as necessary.

The Junior or Lead Interior Designer has the opportunity to be one of the key contributing members of this growing firm. You will be integral to our success. This position includes working in conjunction with the lead designer in all technical and logistical aspects of the projects. The junior designer understands the fundamental practical and aesthetic aspects of design and translates the client’s and designer’s vision into drawings or furniture portfolios.  Design & operational duties will be entailed in this role.  You will work in tandem with our Project Manager to assist in operational, billing, light accounting, procurement, marketing & other essential daily tasks.

Essential qualifications are:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Interior Design

  • 1-5 years designing residential spaces

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, SketchUp. InDesign, Photoshop experience desired

  • Microsoft Windows knowledge desired – Excel experience is especially beneficial.

Skillset

  • Produce CAD plans, elevations, RCP, and detail drawings.

  • Measure and onsite project documentation

  • Freehand sketching and rendering for concept and storyboard work

  • Research and Sourcing of FF&E and Fabrics/Wallpapers

  • Assist in requesting pricing of FF&E

  • Assist in producing a schedule of materials and selections

  • Assist in preparing client presentations

  • Work with the team to prepare finish boards

  • Provide project administrative support to designers and Project Manager

  • Assist in library organization

  • Adheres to building codes and ADA compliance throughout project life cycle
