Fun Things To In New Braunfels
There are many fun things to do in New Braunfels from tubing on the Comal River, visiting Landa Park, or heading out for a fun day at the Schlitterbahn Waterpark & Resort.
You have the Natural Bridge Wildlife Range, the rock formations of the Natural Bridge Caverns

as well as the Animal World & Snack Farm Zoo. There are also a variety of festivals and activities from live music to late night shopping throughout the year.
It's a Sweet Spot Location
New Braunfels is located between the big cities of Austin and San Antonio being just a couple of hours away. With both cities sporting international airports with non-stop flights to several other cities transportation and travel are at hand. Just a 90 minute drive gets you into the heart of Texas Wine Country where you can visit the vineyards and wineries around Fredericksburg. If you want to enjoy the water Canyon Lake is a short drive away. Lake Dunlop is nearby as well.
It's a Great Community
With over 250 restaurants serving everything from German fare, Tex-Mex, pubs, wine bars and free parking it is hard not to be entertained. Other community-centric activities like festivals, shopping, live music etc truly add to the feel of having "city amenities in a small town charm!". You have the Gruene Historic District right on the Guadalupe River and Gruene Hall--the oldest continuously operated dance hall in Texas.
Water Activities
New Braunfels is located at the intersection of the Guadalupe and Comal rivers with tons of splashy fun! Tubing, swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking are staples during the hot summer months and if you are an angler the Guadalupe is ranked as one of the best trout fishing spots in Texas. However, the most well known water feature (an understatement) is the Schlitterbahn Waterpark and Resort. Over 70 acres and 45 attractions of wave pools, waterslides, lazy rivers and swim-up bars. Open from April to September the park is often the destination for many vacationing visitors.
It's a Party Town!
In New Braunfels, if you are bored it's your fault. Celebrating the German heritage they have
Wurstfest, a November multi-day festival of German food and culture. February has Troutfest for the fisherman out there.
The Fischer Park Dog Rodeo is in March and Folkfest and Saengerfest are held in April and May.
Live music is a staple in many of the downtown restaurants and bars year round.
